Just over a month into the Colorado Legislature’s 2023 session, five cannabis bills have been introduced…and the most controversial of them has already been killed.
Two of those proposals were introduced on January 9, the first day that lawmakers convened at the State Capitol. One of the measures proposes an overhaul of the state’s marijuana delivery and social equity licensing programs, while a second bill would give more disciplinary power to state regulators investigating bad actors and contaminated products in the pot industry.
Perhaps the most hotly contested marijuana bill, however, was a proposal that would broaden access to medical marijuana services and products for registered MMJ patients.
