World Cannabis – Robert Moore – Jan 30 2023
Cannabis has been legal in Canada for two years now, however, despite this, there are still individuals who are serving time in jail for selling it. These individuals should be released, as they were arrested under the old laws that made cannabis illegal. In addition, while cannabis is legal in Canada, there are still restrictions on who can sell it and how it can be sold. This means that if you are not a licensed producer, it is still illegal to sell cannabis, and this is what many people refer to as “prohibition.”
The legalization of cannabis was a major step forward for Canada, and it has brought many benefits, including increased tax revenue, reduced crime rates, and improved public health. However, it is not enough to simply legalize cannabis and forget about those who were arrested under the old laws. These individuals should be released from jail and have their criminal records cleared. This would be a fair and just outcome, as they were arrested for a crime that is no longer illegal.
In addition, the current restrictions on who can sell cannabis and how it can be sold are still limiting the potential benefits of legalization. Many people still do not have access to cannabis, and the black market continues to thrive. This means that there are still risks associated with using cannabis, as it is not regulated or tested. It is time for the Canadian government to take action and release the cannabis prisoners. This would be a clear sign that Canada is committed to real, meaningful change in its approach to cannabis. In addition, the government should consider removing the restrictions on who can sell cannabis and how it can be sold. This would ensure that everyone has access to cannabis, and that it can be sold safely and responsibly.
In conclusion, the legalization of cannabis was a major step forward for Canada, but there is still much work to be done. It is time to release the cannabis prisoners and to remove the restrictions on who can sell cannabis and how it can be sold. This would ensure that everyone has access to cannabis, and that it can be sold safely and responsibly
