The lashes from Velour Beauty, headquartered in Toronto, offer a number of different plant fibre options.

Rapper Lizzo is facing down false eyelashes made with animal products and is, instead, sporting biodegradable lashes made from hemp-derived fibre.

False eyelashes can be made from a number of materials — Lashbinder reports these include plastic fibre, human hair, silk and even mink fur — and have been welcomed by many. That likely includes the animal rights-campaigning lawyer in the U.K. who fashioned a barrister’s wig made of hemp instead of horsehair.
